Since the 1950's it has been known as Playmore Resort - the go to old Florida Fish Camp. Over the years it has evolved into one of Florida's finest old traditional seafood houses - located on the Florida west coast.

Because of its incredible scenic qualities, the Myakka River was declared a "Wild and Scenic River" by the Florida legislature in 1985. Only one other river in Florida bears this distinction.
